Good to know

Master Suite: Enjoy the serenity of the woods and golden sunsets from the comfort of the luxurious King bed featuring 600 thread-count linens. French doors lead to the large back deck with a fire-pit. The master also features a sitting area with an antique settee from France, a master closet, chest, and a master bath with a full-sized washer and dryer. Guest Bedroom: The guest bedroom has two twin beds that can be pushed together for couples. This bright and airy room has beautiful views of the forest and features luxurious linens, drapery and a mural framed with aged local barn wood. Kitchen: The well-appointed chef's kitchen features warm butcher block counter tops, a large rustic island, new black-stainless appliances with gas stove, and several details built from wood from a nearby 1800's barn. Rough-sawn open shelving from a nearby family farm sets off the beautiful and artistic decor. Living Room / Dining Room: The open concept living room exudes coziness and warmth. Hand-scraped oak hardwood floors, wood accent walls, and the limewashed fireplace and wood-burning stove will make even the coldest days delightful. A 40-inch 4k smart television has Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV apps. Just bring your favorite TV provider login and enjoy a movie night. While we think the best days are the days spent outside, we do have fast WiFi and LTE/4G coverage. The front door is equipped with a digital lock, and we'll provide you a code prior to your arrival.

There was a reason this place has such high ratings. The home is perfectly decorated and so cozy. We came during summer months but I wouldn't mind a good snow in here or fall foliage. We did a walmart delivery at our arrival time, so we were stocked for meals. There's a dollar general and gas station about 10 mins away. The kitchen had everything we possibly needed. Our favorite thing was watching the fire flies at dusk and the porch bed. Unfortunately it was a dey season, so we didn't get to enjoy the property waterfall, but we did follow the trail down to the creek. We also enjoyed the provided board games. We had an amazing time with our children, making lifetime memories. We are from South Alabama so I was really unsure how our kids would enjoy a non beach vacay, but the waterfalls with swimming holes were absolutely amazing!! We all had plenty of room and didnt feel cramped. Every bed was comfortable, right down to the couch pull out (I've never said those words). Will be back!!!

What a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin in the woods! Everything was so clean and even better than we expected. The screened porch was our favorite spot—we didn’t want to leave it. I could’ve sat there for hours just listening to the peaceful forest sounds. The countryside location is beautiful and quiet, with friendly people all around. Our dog was so happy too! Highly recommend for a quiet getaway! We’re already thinking about when we can come back.

This place was a wonderful retreat for my wife, dog and I. It is easy to get to, but also secluded. The house has everything you could ever need, especially in the coffee dept. The Fort Payne area has a cute little downtown with a couple of good restaurants, Roadside Que and Vintage 1889 were great. The house is right next to Desoto State Park and about 15 minutes from Little River Canyon. Both had amazing waterfalls. The hosts have an amazing property. The house is super clean and very well maintained. They even left some dog treats for our boy. They were very responsive and helpful. 5 stars all the way and I would definitely stay here again.

Such a lovely cottage. Lovely furnishings, great kitchen, Luxurious Master Bed and Linens. Lovely private location in the woods. Saw a deer in the yard up arrival, and a sweet rabbit another time. Nice places to walk with my dogs on Mitchell Road. There’s a beautiful lake and farms and cows. Then I found Straight Creek just down the hill from the cottage. 😯 OMG! It’s like your in a different world. It’s just gorgeous! A waterfall surrounded by OakLeaf Hydrangeas, moss, mushrooms and ferns galore. Just incredible

What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay! David and Lilly's cottage is clean, well stocked, and very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and the walk to the waterfall was nice. Would definitely recommend this place, and hope to return someday.
